Received TPC #159 here this morning. Congratulations to the staff of our magazine for another outstanding Issue.
A friend of mine has a 62 Eureka 3 way that's an ex Abbott and Hast car. Is there any documentation existing that might show if it's the car used in Marilyn's funeral? There is a number in the corner of the windshield that they used on all their livery cars, but in all the videos and pictures we've come across that part of the car is blocked from view. I don't know how many identical cars they had, but there couldn't be too many of them. The license plates have long since been replaced with newer ones.Received 159 here in Southern CA today too. EVERY ISSUE is "over the top" from everyone involved including Tom McPherson, Walt McCall, Brady Smith, Patrick Martin and probably many others working hard behind the scenes. I don't know of any car-hobby club that even comes close to the "heavy weights" we have here at the PCS and hopefully they are never taken for granted!
As others have already mentioned, I throughly enjoyed the articles and pictures on Civil Defense H-P's by Patrick Martin, the "centerfold layout" on Bruce Biancalana's beautifully and accurately restored 1970 M-M Cadillac Chicago FD Ambulance (8) and of course Marilyn Monroe's funeral. I had the privilege of talking to Ron Hast one day after he was a key note speaker at a West Coast PCS event years ago and he said that Eureka's were by far his favorite coach. MM
One other thing I noticed today was that the mailer included a new membership form. We should all make copies of this form to carry with us to events to sign up new members when they ask us about our show cars and the hobby.... a golden opportunity that otherwise may be missed. MM
Please forgive me if this is the wrong post to ask this question. On the TPC magazine, is there a place on here that gives what articles are in each magazine? Like if I was looking for information for a 1948 National hearse, what TPC had articles on it? Thanks.

Ron Hast told me a number of years ago that the coach that was used on Marilyn's funeral was sent to the Philippines in the late 70's early 80's!
Yes, I remember Paul Nix sent quite a few 3 ways down there. How many 62 Eureka 3 ways did Abbott and Hast have?Tom McPherson says he'll check that out with Allan Abbott. It is a fact that they did sell quite a few older coaches to the Philippines but, we'll have to see if this was one of them. Stay tuned.

A lot of the stuff that was in the back of this car was marked as Oglala FD but some was marked Pine Ridge. It would be interesting to know where the car was actually used when it was on the reservation.
