71-76 Comm. Chassis Strut Rod Bushings.

Just to show the difference between the strut rod bushings for a commercial chassis car and a regular passenger car I'm posting the picture below. The top picture kit is the same exact bushing used on the Cadillac commercial chassis cars from 1971 till 1976. The bottom bushing is what shows up for a Calais, De Ville and Fleetwood. Most parts catalogs and parts houses show this bushing fits all except Series 75 and comm. Chassis. If anyone needs the correct strut rod bushing service for their coach or limo I purchased the top pictured kit from Auto Zone and is made in the U.S.A. and is part # FA935. All the rest of the suspension and steering parts seem to be the same on these years for both the Cadillac passenger car and commercial chassis vehicles. Why there's a difference for the strut rod bushing I don't know. If someone wants the lower picture set for the passenger car application I'll take $15 for the set to service both strut rods, shipping included. I have no use for them.

Got a master front end kit for the 73 M-M in this week from an outfit up in Jersey called Performance Suspension Technology, www.p-s-t.com. After a examination of the contents all the parts seem to be of good heavy quality materials with some name brand parts in the kit. Didn't see any Chinese or Japanese markings on any of the parts, but it don't mean they weren't possibly made there I guess. Nothing seems to be chency or anything like that. Kinda had a feeling I was gonna get the stock bushing with the kit so I went ahead and got them from Autozone online. Got the entire shooting match including a new drag link from PST for right at $600.00 (with free shipping) as a complete kit. If I'd bought all the parts one by one from them it would have run about $900.00 which is what I was even coming up with buying everything from the local parts houses as well. From what I can tell after hours of parts research the parts were the same for the suspension pretty much across the board on the C.C., Series 75, Calais, Fleetwood and DeVille's from 71 to 76 with the exception of the strut rod bushings.

I had the strut rod bushings replaced on my car right after I got it, as the rear bushing on the driver's side was missing entirely. The ones they used are the ones you show at the top of the pic, so I guess they got the right ones. All I know is that they called the auto parts store and they delivered them a few minutes later. Don't know who made them though. Made a big difference in the way it drove after they were replaced and the car was lined up.
