Classy Cadillacs

Low Band Antennas

Kind of an unusual (and impractical) place to mount the low-band antennas on the (BEAUTIFUL) Meteors...... mountings like that were famous to take out a whole row of florescent lights at service stations!

Alhiser-Wilson

Among other things, I've collected funeral home and ambulance service postcards for years. Here are two Cadillacs from those cards, cropped from larger views of the funeral homes:

McClave F.H. (Steubenville, OH)
1960 Sentinel

Alhiser-Wilson Mortuary (Escondido, CA)
1956 Meteor

The Alhiser-Wilson Mortuary is still in the same place, same building and same family ownership since the early 1900's. The only other mortuary in town is a Dignity version that doesn't seem to be as popular. MM

Thanks for this one Steve! Something about the '69-'70 Superior landaulet cars just does it for me. I think it's such a formal, classy funeral coach, and there's just not much with more presence. In my dream fleet, there is my A&H, a '58 Eureka or Superior landaulet hearse, and one of these.

1960 Crown Royale Limousine combination from Janesville (SL collection)

Could it be that years later (and 600 miles away) this original paint example is the same Crown limo combination I had a deposit on in Winter, '05 near Grand Forks, ND? *sigh*

*This was the fifth of seven '60 Crown Royale limo style coaches that evaded me from '95-'08.

This newspaper photo, dated 1/30/57, was taken after the Elmhurst, IL P.D. took delivery of their new 1956 Miller. Their 1950 Eureka is in the background.

Not sure if this is classy or not. This is the hearse Tony Stewart has done for him by Unique Autos.

Arrrrgh! Desicration. That's horrible. It may have been a very restorable vehicle that's been completely ruined. Keep it away from any PCS shows or displays.

I'll have to look but I just MIGHT have a before shot of the Tony Stewart car when it was up at C-W Coach. I know I seen it there but not sure if I do have a photo but I will look.

It was a very nice looking light blue with I beleave a black top coach before it got destroyed. I think I still have a before pic of it also. I'll try and see if I can dig it up.

1983 Superior Cadillac Regal Landaulet: Vertin-Munson FH, Wahpeton, ND
Wish I had been there on a sunny day. This car was pretty in burgundy with the tan top.
