Default 1947 Pontiac "Optimistic" Superior Model

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Hear...-/272356431447
"Starting bid $500" !.... with a reserve. "Rusty", "Just In Time For Halloween".
Not to be 'mean-spirited' but, coaches like this take a Titanic proportion boatload of money to restore. I've seen old hearses like this sell to Funeral Homes that 'had one'. But for me, that's the only reason to jump off the cliff on this kind of project.
Just one man's opinion.

These were interesting cars. Pontiac extended chassis adorned with the basic Superior body which they shared with the Cadillac models. Note the typically wide rear side doors and rear fenders with the Cadillac tail lights mounted thereon. That's the way Superior built'em. These were available with Superior's Sidroll side-loading in-floor roller system but, unfortunately not this particular example. You just don't see these old immediate post-war Superior-Pontiacs anymore. Would probably take someone with determination, dedication and deep pockets to properly restore this one but, I'd would hope it could be saved from a rodder or the crusher. I know that you've all heard me say this before but, this is a fairly rare vehicle.

Not this ones first time I think t was up about 7 or 8 months ago. If anyone besides the crusher buys I think it will be the street rod boys.

This one is REALLY rotted out! I don't think that I would wish this one on anyone. Really just a parts car in this condition.

A 40s car will cost more the a 50s to do but they are cheaper then a 30s car.
