Were the side mirrors on the 61 Cadillac Eureka Combination the same as the ones installed on the passenger vehicles?
I have looked at pictures of 61 Cad Eurekas, and I have seen some that appear to have a mirror that is not the same as the production vehicles from that year. There is a 'scar' in the paint on my 61 that indicates that the mirror's base came to a point. I have seen some pics online, (the books are hard to see detail) of Commercial Chassis vehicles that have a pointed base, and some that has a base that is squared off. The production vehicles had bases that had a squared off base...I was just wondering. I cannot do the entire project as original ($$), but I would like to do the aesthetics justice. If I cannot find a mirror that is original (or original in appearance) to the car, then I will use one that is at least period correct.
That said...those mirrors are not useful for driving, especially the passenger side mirror...I cannot even see the mirror when driving my 59. My 61 does not appear to have ever had a passenger side mirror...
Thank you for any help any of you may offer.
