W & D flagship hearses through the years...

I wish I had a photo of the 1966 Cotner Bevington Oldsmobile Combination that served from 1966 to 1973.
In 1973 Mr. Washburn took delivery of a brand new 1973 Miller Meteor Classic Limousine Hearse...(it still resides here...)
The '73 served from 1973-1995, in 1995 he traded the '73 for a 1992 Superior Statesman which served from 1995-2006 (and was sold in 2013).
In 2006, I bought a 1997 S & S Victoria that served from 2006 to 2014. It was traded for this 2008 S & S Victoria (the top is a dark charcoal color, not black, the photos don't do it justice...)

I hope Jon Wurm wont mind me using this photo, but the '66 would have looked like this only with gray top and body. No one remembers what they had before the '66.
The county EMS started up in October 1973 with 3 brand new Chevrolet short body van ambulances. The county bought the '66, painted it white and put an Omaha orange stripe down the side for a back up, but as you know, ambulances have a lot of down time, so it spent a lot of time on the road running calls... I think they kept it about 6 years, then sold it to a local car dealership on a bid, two ladies bought it and carried their dogs in it... was crushed long ago.

Okay, since we like photos, will post some more. Had a hard time getting the right vinyl top color. Wanted a dark gray, but I have seen several grays that clashed with the body color on the hearse. Ended up using KeeAutoTop because they had such a wide selection of colors. Settled on a Midnight Gray so it would "safe" darker, but indeed dark gray and not black. There was a dark gray fern that looked like it might work, but we decided against because it looked too risky...

The rest of these aren't really "flagship" status as they aren't the first out on a service. The '96 does serve as the second out hearse, and if having a nighttime visitation that a casket is going to and from a church, often the '96 or '92 will go on that to keep bugs, rain, and dust off of the hearse to be used for the service the next day. Other than that, these hearses run to the crematory, airport, and most certainly removals...
(the '73 and and '76 are privately owned so they are not used within the business..)
However, here's the rest of the fleet, the non flagship hearses...
1996 S & S Lincoln Park Lane, 1992 S & S Victoria, 1990 Superior Chevrolet, and the 1977 and 1981 S & S Victorias...

Very Impressive fleet you have, Mr Dorsey. If I didnt know better, I'd think you were located in a large metropolitan city. The pride you take in your coaches is indicitive of the pride that I'm sure you have in your whole business.

Kent, if someday you ever have "extra" "Dorsey" window name plates you want to sell, keep me in mind =D
