What indication do we have that this was ever a first call (or service car), or that it was ever funeral home owned?

This is a subjective guess on my part thus the question mark. My thoughts, #1 spot light,#2 cheapie six cylinder stick #3 Black interior my memory from working at Pontiac in 1957 is they came in gray or black. #4 full wheel covers a delivery service/market would have gotten dog dish caps (they don't fly off). #5 although restored truck inside looks pretty much original thus light use of an FH not Joes Snappy Market.

Whether it really was for first call or not, one could add the modifications easily, very sharp. Hard to make black look that good and I cannot see any other significant visible issues. If it drives well, and you are looking for a period first call, tics most of the boxes.
