Things You See On Way To Work

The only times I remember seeing a hearse towed was when I was behind Danny or en route to, or at, a PCS meet. Until this morning. I saw it in the distance ahead of me. So here I go, trying to catch up. Saw the doors on the right and knew it was a side loader. Didn't think much more and then got to wondering if it was a three way. Well, I'm in 5 lanes of traffic on the Interstate and he's already a ways behind me so I go to the far left waiting for him to catch up. Needless to say I was going under the speed limit. Well I took the Memphis split, thought I'd lost him, then I noticed him again. Way back. So, here I go again, far left lane....and here he comes! I didn't know three ways were somewhat rare until my trip with Danny a couple of weeks ago. Got several pics and sent them to Jeremy, after I called and woke him up....and according to Jeremy, it IS a 73 Superior three way. What's funny I told Jeremy it looked like the same year as Dark Shadow and I thought it might be a Superior...I'm learning and I was kinda impressed with myself. HA! Not sure if it's one of the rare ones, but wanted to share. I had to miss my exit and was almost late to work. Sometimes driving to work can be an adventure.

All side loaders are 3 ways, unless they do not have a rear door.
I cant tell if its a 71, 72, or 73 without seeing the grille, but here are the Superior 3 way numbers,

1971--68
1972--88
1973--140

Very nice looking, I wonder where its headed?

Hey, what do I know? LOL!! I think I know where it's headed. I'm going to call and see if it's for sale....If I can find the number. Update to follow...
Thanks for the numbers, Jeremy was gonna look it up when he got home.

Hope you didnt take offense to my post, it was not meant to be, just to help you learn and give the production numbers.

No, I didn't. I really don't know much, just laughing at myself....my logic was if there are 3 ways in, it's a three way, lol. Thanks for the numbers, was curious and didn't want to wait on Jeremy.

73 you can see the 5 mph crash proof front bumper and those are 73 caps.
but fun when you see more then just another Hearse is it not.

Good eye Ed! :thumb:

I was going to say 72 or 73 because if I recall, the taillights on the 71 were a little different. Now that you mention it, the 73 was the first year for the "big ass" front bumper. :)
