Donna's '70 S&S lost its 130 amp 40DN alternator the other day. I've managed to put one together but there just aren't any parts left. The 40DN uses a unique mounting. Nothing else will fit. When it quits again I probably won't be able to replace it. The 145 amp alternator used on later ambulances uses a a standard mount which opens up a lot of possibilities for upgrades.
If it comes down to it I can fabricate one but it would be easier just to buy one. |

Perhaps the rig has a battery switch and she is turning off the batteries with the engine running. Good by alternator.
