1954 Chevy Ambulance Sold at Auctions America Today

I was watching the Fall Auburn Auction run by Auctions America on the internet today. A 1954 National? Chevy ambulance rolled up to the block and of course, I was interested. It looked complete and at the very least, it was a looker. A white car, with a six-cylinder and three-speed manual trans, lights, but no stretcher. They announced they had no papers to prove it, but they believe that Howard Hughes owned it at one time. So, how much is it going to bring? The bidding starts and at $9K the seller lifts the reserve and the bidding stopped at $12,750 and it was sold. I think it looked like a bargain, but I don't know anything about it. Was anybody there? Does anyone know this car? Did anybody here buy it? I would really like to know.
