Sure would save on bangs and dings,nice looking too
I have seen a number of combos that had something similar to this. you could flip it out to cover the sill and bumper to keep them from getting all scared up going in and out with the gurney.

All the ones Ive ever seen just goes over the sill plate as Ed mentioned. I know a lot of newer hearses also have them. My 49 S&S combo has the snaps on the table, but it is for a full length mat (which I don't have) to cover the whole floor for ambulance use.
What kind of material is it? Also, i don't think i've seen a rear deck with industrial carpet before.
Just vinyl ,the carpert is auto carpet.
