Default 1960's Schaefer Cadillac Ambulance Paint Color?

Does anyone know what paint color was used on the lower half of the Schaefer Cadillac Ambulances in the 1960?

It looks to be a red-ish brown color.

I provided links to some pictures showing the color in question.

Michael, it is possible that the color on those ambulances may not be factory colors for the years, or for Cadillac. Having said that, it was fairly common to see similar reddish-brown colors during the 50s, 60s and 70s by almost every manufacturer. But, I wouldn't be surprised if someone here knows exactly what color it is.

Bill, thanks for the input!

It's hard to tell exactly what color this is from the pictures. It sometimes looks reddish and sometimes more brown.

With any luck someone here will have some idea what color it is.

Maybe the reddish color could be one of the 1964 Cadillac colors? Possibly Firemist Red Poly?

Michael: Long time PCS Member (and B&M Siren Owner) Kevin O'Connell will know for sure as soon as he sees your post... but (as I recall) their company colors were kind of a metallic "root beer" brown and white, and quire likely were not standard Cadillac colors. (*) BTW... they are still in business here in Southern CA. MM

The only GM color I could find called Root Beer is a 1992 color.

first question is do you have the car? or are you just looking for the color they used? it not a fire mist color. what year did they start? don't look at a color newer then that. that being said most new colors are old colors brought back and grades of metallic swapped. if you have the car there are a number of was to get a color match if you just looking try goggle fleet colors Shepard ambulance service. address helps and maybe, just maybe they registered it.

Default Schaefer Ambulance History

Michael: If you google Schaefer Ambulance.... they have been in business since 1932. It looks like the "root beer" fleet colors were mainly in the 60's and 70's
