Are there any salvage yards on the islands, where some of these older ambulances might be just waiting for a collector to "pick their bones" or remove them to become the next restoration project. The 1958 Pontiac is one that I would love to see come back to life.
Nice patch, maybe 20 years old or so. The newer patch has "EMS" instead of "Ambulance". The City and County of Honolulu EMS philosophy is, "O Ka Mea Ma'i Ka Mua" or, "The person sick is first." Even older patches have "Health Department". Most of these photos are C&C ambulances, but I think I included one from Molokai (another Island). The photo is of Mayor Fasi and the first paramedic class.
