April 10-12, 2015. PCS Volunteer Chapter Meet- Owensboro, KY.
After a few years of having the Volunteer Chapter Spring Meet in another location we have decided to return back to Owensboro, Kentucky of our Spring Meet this year! As in years past it will be hosted by Stephen Mayfield. Below is the weekend’s itinerary!
Friday April 10th- We will meet at Muster Coach Company 135 East Third Street. Calhoun, KY 42327 www.mustercoaches.com at 11:00 a.m. CST. We will tour Muster Coaches and depending on the funeral home schedule, tour Muster Funeral Home just across the street.
After our tours and time at Muster we will head back to Owensboro to get checked into our rooms at the Fairfield Inn 800 Salem Drive. Owensboro, KY 42303. 1 (270) 688-8078. The room rate for the weekend is $99.00 with out taxes, the rooms are listed under Stephen Mayfield’s name. Remember to ask for the rooms under his name and then get your room reserved under your name.
After we’ve checked in we will gather together and head over to the world famous Moonlight Bar-B-Que Inn located at 2840 W. Parrish Ave. Owensboro, KY 42301 www.moonlite.com after dinner we will return to the hotel for the usual Volunteer chapter parking lot time and fellowship!
Saturday April 11th- Saturday morning we will meet up for breakfast at the Denney’s Diner 4545 Frederica St. just next door to our hotel. Our first tour for Saturday will be the On Duty Depot 1140 Moseley Street Owensboro, KY 42303 www.theondutydepot.com . Lunch will follow at Old Hickory BBQ 338 Washington Ave. Owensboro, KY 42301 www.oldhickorybar-b-que.com. After lunch we will have a (tentative) tour the Sorgho Airport Fire Dept. 724 KY-56 Owensboro, KY 42301. Depending on time we may have a possible cemetery tour or two as well afterwards. Afterward we will gather for an early dinner at Cracker Barrel 5311 Frederica Street. Owensboro, KY 42301 or go ahead over to the Cruise-In held in the Lowes parking lot located at 415 Fulton Drive Owensboro, KY 42303. There will also be food vendors at the Cruise-In so we can ether eat at Cracker Barrel or grab a burger at the Cruise-In. After the cruise in we can head back to Denney’s for desert and coffee or head on back to the hotel parking lot for the usual Volunteer Chapter gab, fellowship and cigar smoking!
Sunday April 12th- For those still their Sunday morning we can gather for breakfast before we say our goodbyes at the end of the meet.
