still got to do that piece of roof. but we are closing things in on this one. need one more sunny day to get eh other 4 doors sand blasted we can seal it up.
all right got the shinny stuff all in. backed it out to clean out while we have a day with out rain. and jumped on the other 4 doors. this one might be a good car if you drove it on occasion.
we got home today I put the WRL up on the top. we are putting this stuff together now so if we have to do any drilling or filling we do it before we paint.
also if we have a problem correction it now is a lot easier then when everything is together. all of this equipment was removed when we got this one so we rewired all the emergency equipment. the floor switch I picked up from that man at the Florida meet works good.
i would have put the tunnel lights in but I used one of the pig tails in the other siren light. still havent decided there flash pattern yet.
we got one fender in place now. hope to have the other this week and at least one front door. got to run up to rapid tomorrow to get some plans nailed down.
time to put the front seat in and get one front door on. to get the seat out I had to move 5 cars. two out side and 3 from in to out. then just as we got everything back in the sky ripped open and the rain came down. but i was happy to get the space inside back.
getting the center door ready to prime and jam. had to look twice at this but you see the problem with the drain holes that Armbruster put in there doors. no wounder it rusted out. it does no good to repair the rust it you don't fix the problem. we hope this change will do good. while we were at it we figured that the skin should be tacked in a few places to. after we prime we will seal the edges also it all helps
we had to turn the 53 around and get the doors on the other side. the temptation was to great to let here go around the block a time or two. but this time the HSPD caught me. just as we were backing it back over the curb he stopped and gave us the thumbs up. the trip is here https://www.dropshots.com/jer57747/date/2019-06-17/15:09:54
Wonderful to see it going down the street! A couple of comments the transmission sounds just like the one in my first car a 41 Pontiac they did not change except the tailshafts got longer. And the oil pressure looked a mite low all my strait eight Pontiacs always were over 40 going down the road. I hope it does not have a stump puller rear axel ratio so you can use it on the highway.
This one runs right at 45 going down the road right at 35 idling. It doesn't feel like a low geared rear end. It will roll quit at around 60. Here we were doing about 10 in second. I do need to get the oil changed. It has been awhile. But she runs a lot better with the valves set even. There were at least 3 set way to tight.
My 41, they were too loose had to do them twice after the valve job to get them as quiet as I wanted. I added an Edmunds manifold with two two barrels and a factory high compression head then I could dust off the other kids with V/8 Fords.
this is what we started with. looks good in those pictures. it was sitting out in a field for 10 years got pushed round with a front end loader every now and then.
