Yesterday was the close for National Paramedics Week. As part of an EMS display at one of the shopping centers the 73 Foundation car (which remains a work in progress... aren't all collector cars), and the 65 attended.
There had been a request for a couple of interior shots.

Doc, they both look fantastic. As a twenty year paramedic, it means more than you know for a doctor to honor EMS providers. Thank you!!

Thanks Brendan for your kind words. I hope we get the chance some day to visit in person.
Yesterday I enjoyed my role of bridging the past with the present. I would try and start...or end a visit. If at the start I would prime them to ask about the broad range of pre hospital care provided today. If at the end I would say to the eight year old "when I was your age, this is how care was provided". All too often our history, our roots are forgotten.
The highlight of my day... my cars are all labelled in Starr's livery. They were the major provider of ambulance service to Calgary from 1930-1970. At one point an older gentleman came up to chat. He had worked for Starr's as a young man, moving on in 1960 to other work. "I never worked in a fancy car like that" (my 65 Pontiac) were his words. After a long visit I hope it made both our days special.
