as we assemble the interior back together on this eureka I noticed that the sill number is cast into the latches for the tool box door. they are cast of brass and the number is cast into all 6 pieces.
fairly even for any hand stamping. the numbers straight across and in a arch. no raised portions on the other side. and fairly thick brass. they are machined over the numbers which would give them a sharp edge. and they are still deep and even.
I would like to shake the hand of a man that can stamp by hand that even and that deep in a brass casting.
but either way still something I have not seen. all the upholstery marked on the back and the lumber yes. but the first time I have seen hardware marked for just one car.
