'71 M-M Combo in Illinois

a motivated sell to say the least. love the deer alerts. still my favored year. but the picture of the tag on the cowl says it all.

and maybe 26 that weather and road salt will really age a body fast and we are still looking at a over 40 year old car here.

This 71 M-M Combo belonged to friends and former PCS members Mike & Deb Rawaillot of Woodridge IL. They owned it for about 10 years & sold it last weekend. Their asking price was 1400.00

They also have a 64 Superior Crown 3 way for sale, which was at the Burr Ridge IL PCS 98 meet and came from Bennet in MI. in 97.

Anyway of finding out where they got it Darlene. The years line up to with what I'm thinking. Crap I'd gave $1,400 for it for sure!

it has alot of issues, they offered it to me for 1200 a few weeks ago but i didnt want to get in to such a big project with the other 2 that i have to work on still. she said it came from someone in chicago, maybe noel schiff? im not sure.

Here's why I "may" know this car's origins.

Seen this car and it peaked interest because it matches the description of the combo that was a stablemate to my 77 M-M at Woodbury Funeral Home in Woodbury, TN. Supposedly the combo was sold to someone in Illinois by the salvage yard the FH sold it to. It was one of those deals where the funeral home didn't want anyone locally getting a hold of it. This all happened about the same time my 77 got traded to a newer gold hearse in 2003 before I got it. Never figured out why both were not traded in at the same time because their 77 wound up in collector hands (with me) less than 30 miles away from their funeral home! I was even told by one of their part time guys that the owner of the combo from Chicago who had family in the area was by the funeral home and showed him a photo of the coach and he said it had "little skulls" on the front roof corners where the lights went like this car does. The funeral home owner told me a few years after I got the 77 that if he had known another funeral director who was a collector would wind up with the 77 M-M they had he wouldn't have sent the combo to the local salvage yard! Although not 100% positive this is the same car but it could perhaps be. And YES, it was gold too!
