Can anyone suggest a replacement bulb for the GE 4001R bulbs, no longer produced, used for the 70's Superior tunnel lights?

Super Bright LED Bulbs
Try superbrightled.com I replaced my bulds with LED bluds. Hold your breath with the cost, each light was about $25.00. With these bulbs, you will also need to utilize a modern electronic flasher. Whelen manufactures several top of the line units.

I believe it's a General Electric 5001R that has replaced the 4001R.

I have quite a few in stock in Wagner and Westinghouse. They're still made by Phillips/Westinghouse. Wagner has upgraded to the 5001R (I stock these as well) which is 50 watts. The 4001R is 37.5 watts. The later (1981 and on) GE stuff had very poor optics. Their inventory was depleted by 1998.
