OKC carnage claims procar

Vera Voodoo is a performer that calls OKC home. (She tried joining this site in the past but powers that be incorrectly assumed her legal name was fake. Membership was denied.) She and her family are fine but her garage and cars didn't fair as well. A downed power line set fire to it after Friday night's twister.

Her beloved '64 MM combination named Persephone is a total loss. Her husbands vehicles are too.

Unbelievably heartbreaking. Vera has put considerable love into her coach since acquiring in Oct. '11. I had even found missing removable panels for her. Doubt Persephone is rebuildable (burned so hot siren bolts even melted) but if so, I'm sure donations of spare parts would be appreciated. I have a rear loading door glass to donate if decision is made to resurrect.

At the very least we should keep an eye out for a similar coach.

Sure looks horrible to see someone's garage and collections of cars destroyed. But, at least the family are all okay and are here to talk about it.

As has been said many times, things can be replaced, people can't. Our hearts go out to them and all of the OKC folks who have been touched by Mother Natures wrath.

I can't image that coach being restorable. Looks like the back door and back bumper are the only things salvageable. Keep in touch with her Attila and make sure that it doesn't go to the crusher with that back door and back bumper still on it. Very sad and cannot imagine dealing with that kind of loss, however there will be other cars to be had. They still have their lives and their home.

a fire is very had to over come. not a good way to lose one. it must be a thing with that body Brendon"s 63 sat threw a f1 the day after it arrived here.

Words can not express how unfortunate this is. To some of us ( like me) our cars are more then just cars. They are part of our family . Like others have said at least nobody was hurt. But it is still really really sad. Atti send her my condolences.

Bit of an update. Through a chance encounter, Jim Jordan caught wind of a '64 MM combination last week not far from OKC that was on short list for crushing. Property was being cleaned up and it was slated for scrap this week. I let Vera know and she managed to step in quickly over weekend. Snagged an interesting coach for not a lot out of pocket. Luck was really on her side and she deserved a deal - plus it was close to home. Yes, it needs restoration although less work than getting her first '64 back on road!

Note original mauve & white interior.

Kudos to Jim for starting ball rolling.

Really cool that we learned something beneficial today after taking multiple measurements. Miller Meteor's '63 redesign started rear loading door glass that interchanges through (at least) '68. There weren't '69 or '70 models available for measuring.

Too bad about her coach, glad everyone is ok. And good news about finding the '64.

AND, the motorhome in the background is a Superior!

I just hope that Vera Voodoo salvaged the rear door, rear bumper, and anything else salvageable off of the burned '64 M-M. It would be a shame to see it crushed with good parts still on it.

I, too, hope to one day own a '64 M-M limo style coach......... hint, hint. If she needs assistance with a back glass, let me know.

The good news is certainly that Vera and her family weren't injured, despite the heartbreaking loss of a beloved auto. Hope she can get the replacement up and running w/o too much trouble, though it looks challenging. I noticed right away that unusual color interior! Did anyone else notice what looks like a B&M "whistle" (Steve Loftin-speak, lol) hanging out from the burned '64? I've got a frozen one like it in my pile of odds & ends.
