Ambulance related finds !

I was at the Barrie Automotive Flea Market last Thursday and found a bunch of cool stuff. Like a Carlisle flea market.

Among the finds was a set of ON ambulance license plates, registration card and original mailing envelope. See photos as these were on a 1966 Cadillac white ambulance.

The other neat thing was a Rudder Syringe Holder made by Thomas L. Keith & Co. in Atlanta GA.
There is a 3.6720 number stamped on the housing.

Does anyone know what the syringe holder was use for/in ?
Was it used in a ambulance ? Hospital ? Any help/advise would be appreciated.

Gotta love the treasure hunting !!!

Would that be the 400 flea market, what a place, idea for a chapter meet later in the summer,as for the syringe holders,???? do not know,as for the plates in the package Len will fill you in on that colorful character from Grimsby, shall we say a one of a kind personality, and a master of the four letter words,on/off the radio.Pollock rentals is where all our pontiacs were leased from, they also did coaches, would wonder who got their records and put a picture to that document, again how do you find the time to do all you do..for that is one big flea market, look out Florida here he comes, have a great time and talk to you later...:thumb:

Wayne

I will talk to Len and see what I can find out.
The guy I got the plates from has more. Maybe worth getting them all.

It's isn't the Barrie 400 flea market. It is a automotive flea market that happens twice a year. I'm like a kid in a candy store at them !

I did this job at a Blue Mountain Ski Chalet the next two days after that auto flea market. This family comes to the unicycle club and knows I love to build stuff.

Always on the go !

A collection of John Deere Snowmobiles to share with Rich in MI.

Digger loves John Deere but not enough to buy one.

I still dig Rich's Johnson sleds !

I will own a cool old tractor too. Not this Ford 8N.

Sea-flea type boat was already sold before I could buy it.

CCM ten speed, great deal but not for me.

Excellent workmanship, until my injury to the hands loved building outdoor items,my friend and I built an outhouse near the bonfire pit at his farm, serves as housing for the stereo system, speakers spread throughout gardens,at my modest abode I have 2 ambulance stations complete with tonka ambulances in my gardens,we canadians love to dig in dirt..:smileflagcan:

I've got a '72 (If I remember correctly) John Deere 400 that's identical to the green one in the photo above, plus an '84 John Deere Spitfire. I like the 400 best, if you're going to own a John Deere snow machine, it should look like a John Deere, green and yellow. Cool pics - good thing I didn't go, my wallet would have been a lot lighter on the trip home. :specool:

Here are some of the finds/goods I got at the swap meet !

Notice the glass bottle's raised lettering ! Maybe a hospital or ambulance item ?! Kinda sick but I bought it anyway.

Enjoy,
Darren

My brother Tim actually is the one with the vintage snowmobiles. I passed the information on to him as he hasn't been on here lately.

The good old days when you gave a sample in a glass bottle, not a dixie cup...And Jeremy if your into the big drums,we shall keep my eyes open, many, many of them floating around up here.

Still looking for some info on the syringe holder in the first post.

Anyone ?

Please show/ask hospital works and EMS people you know to see if they have ever seen or used one of those aluminum holders.

THANKS !
Darren

take it to Daytona, give the winner a free beer if they can I.D it,my guess is that it was used to hold syringe while needle applied to it???? enjoy the beach and the meet do us proud:657::657::657:

That is an a anesthesia syringe from the 1940's developed to dispense sodium pentothal at a uniform rate. In this way the anaesthetic could be given in a more controlled rate (ie: the pt will neither wake up or stop breathing).

Wayne

I did the club proud today on the beach !!!

Met some pretty ladies and spread the work about the club big time !
The guys will verify that !

Tim

THANK YOU !!!
Fantastic info sir !
