Dave McCamey arrives....

It was great to see the old owner of my Lifeliner at the PCS 2011 show in Hudson, OH. Dave was forced to sell his pro-cars a few years ago due to health issues. Sarah got his combo, me the Lifeliner, and "The Duff" his 57 ambulance.

Dave certainly looked great and appreciate Steve spending time with him escorting him about.

Take care Dave!

Very cool. I'm glad he was able to see your car now that the work has been done to it. Just to clarify, I purchased his '66 combo over a decade ago, so way before his health problems. Once Rick finishes his work on the '57, we'll have to get the three cars together.

Dave mentioned to me on Saturday that the person that got his FWD '86 H&E armored limo is wanting to sell it. The car needs a new engine and he may be willing to let it go to a PCS member for the price a scrap yard is willing to pay for it. The car needs engine work and perhaps some other stuff, but it's an extremely rare vehicle. It's the last senate ordered armored limo that was ever sold to the public. Most are destroyed or put in museums when they retire. Dave will be posting info about the car on here soon he says.

Also, Dave has told me that the original copies of his PCS meet videos from back in the day are gone. They were stolen and destroyed one of the times he was hospitalized. So if you have copies of Captain Video's old tapes, take care of them. They are all that is left.

Dave McCamey

Because I had to work at 6 AM Sunday morning, we had to leave mid afternoon Saturday. Just as we were leaving, I came across old PCS friend Al Vondriska. Al was a part of a crew of guys I'd often hang with at PCS Meets, including "CaptainVideo" Dave McCamey and the late-great Joe Ross. I briefly asked Al if Dave was here, and Al said no. I'm THRILLED to see this post, and photos of Dave. I wish I had been able to stay to visit with Dave, but sadly, that's the way things go. Thank you for posting, Richard! Tom

It is great to see Dave again! Although I am sure life for him is a struggle, I bet he really enjoyed seeing all of you and a couple of his former procars. What a great day for Dave and the PCS!

It was terrific to be able to spend part of the meet with Captain Video.

As you all know, I was engulfed in taking meet photos for most of the week. When Dave arrived, I was done on the photo line, and I spent much of the rest of the afternoon escorting him around and getting him connected with Richard, Sarah, and others. I used to hang around with Dave at meets in the 80's, so it was great to see him again. I know his health hasn't been good, so that made it more special.

Old friends are the best.
