PCS International Meet @ Albany

Dan,

I'll be using most of your post in the upcoming issue of On Call (Due out Feb. 1); thanks for the update.

Do you have any Chapter news of recent or upcoming events that you could send me? I'm in the process of writing the "PCIN" column for the next issue of TPC and would be pleased to include your Chapter info in it...

I would need to receive any info you have by the week before the Micro-Meet in Flint. Hope to see you there.

Albany Meet 2010

Could someone please tell me what time the cars will be on the show field on Saturday? Also, will there be a car corral (cars for sale)? Thank you!

The cars should start to be arriving at the show field in a sense starting on Sunday, you see the show field is the parking lot next to he hotel that we will be using all week long. We will be arranging the cars for the show starting around 8:00 AM on Saturday. As to there being a car corral (cars for sale) there is not scheduled to be one separate from the show field, but I can tell you that there will be at least one car there for sale. So if you have a car to sell don't be afraid to bring it to the show there will be a place to park next to the show field were you can show it. If you are interested in buying a car come an see what is there.

Dan, thank you very much for the information. I am in the Binghamton area and am hoping to make it to the show. I don't have a car....I am looking to buy! I will look for you and introduce myself. Thanks again and have a safe trip to and from the show.

Curruntly in Baltimore, MD on the north side. Will roll out from here within the next hour or so for Albany! The GPS says we have 5 hours to go. So we'll be seeing everyone late this after noon! Safe travels everyone!!!

I'm thinking of driving over for the meet. How many cars have you registered? How many do you realistically expect to be there?

No doubt we were at the right place...........about 10 minutes after we arrived we were trying to figure out where we were going for dinner. I have gained 20 pounds since joining the PCS! 17 of us went to the Olive Garden and we had a really good time catching up, etc.

Keith,
At one point in time there were 33 cars registered, I do not know the current number. I can tell you that there are 20 cars in the parking lot now. My uneducated guess is that there will be between no less than 40 to 50 cars here by Saturday.

I would like to thank all of you that helped to make the 2010 International Meet in Albany the success that it was. This includes all the committee members as well as all of you that attended. Without your attendance there would not have been much of a meet. On that note the last count that I had showed that there were at least 57 cars that showed up sometime during the meet. If you read one of my previous post you would know that I was hoping for 50 cars. Thank you all again for making that mark be reached and more. At the banquet it was announced that 16 cars had enough points to make senior class. This was to show not only did we have the 50 cars but they were many there that were of the highest quality. Unfortunately it was a mistake thinking that these cars all made senior status, which is not the case. To make it as a senior class car it must not only get the 185 points, or more, it must win its class. From the PCS Judging Manual; "Any car receiving a First or Best of Show with a deduction of 15 points or fewer becomes a Senior Car." I apologize for any problems that this may have created.
Again thank you to all of you that helped make Albany a success!:clap:

Regarding the number of cars, I have a total of 57 professional cars on "Steve's semi-official" list!

To clarify, that includes the '74 MM at the fire museum, and two cars I found parked in the hotel parking lot on Saturday, a '68 Superior Cadillac combo and an '82 (? or so) Superior Buick hearse. That number does not include the '56 VW van ambulance, the '77 Dodge military ambulance, or the '74 Dodge NY State Police car - they are on my list but not in the numbers.

But 57 cars is my story and I'm sticking with it. So yes, you did clear the 50 mark!
