My Pontiac engine pull

Just had my 1972 Pontiac 455 engine pulled for shipping to Jasper Engines for a rebuild. Found a broken lifter floating freely under the valve cover, and the exhaust manifolds essentially disintregrated. (You'll recall it was spraying oil from the left side as well.)

I plan to detail the engine compartment, locate the many missing brackets, etc, from previous owners repairs, and the get the engine back. My estimate is about 4 weeks for the engine turn plus some more time on my end.

New pictures in my Pontiac album. If the rain stops today, I hope to photo document the engine compartment as it is without the engine.

Those are 6X heads on that engine. Pontiac did not start using those until 1976. Just be aware of that these are not 1972 cylinder heads when you start looking for exhaust manifolds.

Thanks

Sure glad I posted the pictures as I had located a set of manifolds in CA for a 1972 455. If you see anything else, please let me know.

Back to the boards...thanks Aaron.
