Or so I thought! I was rummaging around in one of the old garage stalls at the Funeral Home today. Way back on a top shelf I found this little beacon. The plastic plug was damaged but I thought I would still try it to see if it worked. The bulb lit but that was all. Took it to Radio Shack to have a new plugin put on. The young guy behind the counter said " I have one just like that"! Told him I know nothing about them, thought maybe it was from the 60's? He said " I bought mine at a garage sale". He is a Volunteer Fireman and I asked what he paid? His response,,,,,,,,"2 Bucks"! Ha, Ha, Ha So much for my find! I'm still glad to have it.
It's a Federal Sign and Signal Corporation Chicago Ill Fire Ball Model FB-1 12volt Serial No. 2A12 The young guy cleaned the gears but said I need a drop of oil and some gear grease to make it run smooth and quiet! I'll take care of that.
