1959 Cadillac fins

I was reading my newly aquired Series 75 book and for 1959 it states that the towering height on the 59 fins were incompatible with the dignity of the stately series 75 so they lowered the height above the taillight assemblies, which made them appear longer. I never realized they did this until looking at the pics and you can see the difference.

My question is, did any coachbuilders also do this or did they all use the standard height?

'59 fin heights and lengths actually vary between passenger car models as well. (Multiple lengths coincidentally holds true on '57 and '58 as I've already measured those first hand.) No large difference in fin heights regardless - 3/8", although 1" on a limo is claimed.

Lengths are clearly one of two - either from a coupe/convertible or a sedan. Coupe is a full 6" longer to the first turn.

I've always thought the fins on the 59 Limos, look just a little bit shorter than say, the 59 Coupe Deville, but never thought they actually were.
