Put the 6Z90R3Q371840 vin into the Cadillac forums VIN decoder, and this is what it says!

This VIN does not appear to be valid

just your topical creative titling since most states don't even title cars this old any more you find all kinds of stuff. but as I'm not interested in someones eases fanaticism I'll pass.

That VIN is a 13 character, last year for the auto companies to use that format was 1980. Everything from 1981 forward is 17 character, Federal Government requirement. I no longer have access to the 75 and earlier GM parts catalog but if anybody has one there should be a chart in there.

Just for fun I Googled the VIN, comes back to a '73 Superior coach that sold on December 2, 2017 for $3,550 out of Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, seller was gingerale59

Definitely a 73 coach in the photo.

Here is a picture of a 1973 Cadillac, and you can definitely see the family resemblance. Yet, they are both Cadillac's. Just different years..... The blue one is a 1980 Cadillac front view, and the red is a 1980 rear view. I will leave it to the casual observer to decide, if it is a 1971, as the title of the auction says, a 1973 as the reported VIN says, or a 1980 as the pictures that I have posted suggest.

Well it sold buyer beware. I checked the feedback seller has been on Ebay since 10-18 and the 100 % feedback represents ONE feedback as a buyer NONE as a seller. I would not put up a dollar for this till I was standing next to it and had verified the VIN and saw picture seller ID that matched name on title.

Paul, originally he had it listed on Top Classic Cars For Sale for 10k

Peter, you are correct. Those skirts were not a factory item on Cadillac "C" (Fisher Body designation through 1984) or "D"(Fisher Body designation from 1985 forward) bodies. And GM never had a skirt that fit over a rear wheel opening molding, the molding was always omitted and then added to the bottom of the skirt to make the illusion of a full rear panel.

Kent, must have been a "prototype car":D as the first year GM introduced square headlights was 1975.
