Here's a link to an article and news report about a fire at the ambulance station in Sparta, NJ. Two ambulances and the building were destroyed. This is the volunteer squad where PCS members Jeff and Mary Hookway are members. If you watch the video report, Mary is their spokesperson. Sorry to hear about the incident, guys, hope your squad is able to rebuild quickly.

Sorry for the loss out there in Jersey.

It does sound like they have things under control though. Mary mentioned about a loaner ambulance and the people to cover their area until they get back up to running again.

The one really good point of the whole thing is that there were no injuries. There was a yoga class going on in the building at the time and they were able to get all of the class and the ambulance attendants out in time. Terrible loss, but in the long run, the ambulances and the building can be replaced... people can not be replaced.

yes lucky that no one was injured in the incident and that it was put out before destroying the building. no matter what there is never enough insurance to cover the loss. fire is never a good thing. it would be interesting to find out how it started. filling the O2 tank? was it one of the liquid ones?
but oxygen does not burn. so were was the fire the O2 fed? in a thing like this sometimes there is no answer. but glad no one was hurt and they are still in business.

We are all sorry to hear about the fire at the Sparta squad building, but at least nobody was hurt. We have had many Northeast Chapter meetings in that building. Hopefully the building will be rebuilt and we can be together there again.
Meanwhile, we wish the entire Sparta Squad all the best.
