New EMS Station Opening

On Saturday we had the opening of our newest station, Station 19 in Harrow. Prior to the end of June, our unit in this community operated out of facilities located at the Gerald A Smith Funeral Home. When the County cancelled their contract with Smith's for the provision of ambulance service at the end of 2008, this was the last Funeral Home operated ambulance service in the Province of Ontario (Smith's had operated from 1945 thru 2008). So, it was rather appropriate that one of the units on display Saturday was Len Langlois 1952 Desoto Limousine Side Load Ambulance and the other a 1969 Ford Econoline Goldline Ambulance . The public showed more interest in the two historical vehicles than the 2010 Chev Crestline Type III that was on display.

will you got to admit he new type 3 units are a dime a dozen(more like 80,000 each) how often do you get to see a 50's car conversion. but glad you got new digs to work out of. it always nice to put put the first scratch in something.
