Attila's Adventures 12.8

AA12.8 for short.

Random picture posted online last year led to late night Google satellite searches which led to finding a matching property that was then committed to memory. Yesterday passed close enough through area that an on-ground search diversion arose.

Found property easily enough, as remembered. As luck would have it, owner was home too. He provided a nickel tour.

'72 Superior came from a black FH. It was over 90 degrees and I already forgot where it served. Originally a black over dark green coach it was repainted black by second FH served.

Cosmetics have deteriorated in last few years. Still a straight running coach that wouldn't take much if/when time arose.

Really liked green interior pattern.

'87 Eagle Lincoln up next. Don't think I've ever seen one in person before.

Interesting seeing how Eagle handled conversion, stretching rear side doors yet leaving doglegs, then adding tail stretch.

Now the reason for stopping in first place. Funny thing is this '76 Superior 54 had been moved off property to a remote location in '10, even though a random shot of it had been posted online just last year.

Wasn't dressed properly nor prepared to dig into checking it out. Served in Ridgeway, VA originally. They donated rig to a different municipality in '93 (no mention of when it was actually retired from service). Intent was to use ambulance for parades/events. Happy with donation, a mechanic was dispatched to drive rig back and go through it. He did so, then handed city $1200 bill which they refused to pay. Ambulance went into storage and after a couple years mechanic applied for title. He sold to current owner in '03.

Still 100% intact and complete '76 could be a fairly easy restoration, even though it has sat outside last decade. Owner has never even driven it... This old girl needs attention and the sooner the better. Owner doesn't wish to sell but I'll work on that. :)

Question on siren, what does the F stand for in C6BF?
