My Dad was 18 years-old and a member of the 82nd airborne division that parachuted into Normandy that day. I wish he was still here so I could thank him. Jim

A dear friend of mine who passed away several years ago was my mentor when I took a interest in preserving local history,Ed Bennett often told me of D-Day and how as a young tank commander he was gonna blast the huns,up until they blasted his tank from under him he lost his crew and one eye,and spent time in a POW camp,"we did what had to be done and we would do it again, just so you never have to" he often told me, RIP Eddie and all those who did what had to be done, this Canadian wakes every day thanking the lord for life and countless men and women for my freedom.
