1987 Eureka Brake Lines

I just started replacing the rear Brake lines on my 87 Cadillac Eureka concours landau
and I have noticed that they have compression fittings on the brake lines, was this common practice ?

I have never seen compression fittings on brake line before

If the lines were spliced, it was common for non automotive knowledge based people to use compression fittiong to splice in some steel tubing. I wouldn't continue the practice, even though it hasn't failed in service on your car. All brake lines should have double flare fittings on them to be considered installed to industry standards.

hmmm thats strange...because they are orginal, so that means Eureka put them on when they built the coach.

ok thanks

M

Where are these compression fittings located? I have never seen any brake components that have been connected to steel lines or rubber hoses with compression fittings. In this case, a picture will be worth a thousand words. I will PM you with my email address so you may send a picture. thanks Paul
