Default hinges and back doors

the lower hinge on the 53 was broken so we picked up a NOJ (new old junk) one from a man in Canada. got the set. just in case. now Barrette solved the gurney loading problem by hinging the door on the right side. not sure how National did it but Armbruster cut the stops on the hing back till it opened wide almost touching the taillight. there is quite a bit of difference in the stock hinge and the modified one. we took out about a 1/4 inch

You did a great job there Ed.

I love making and fabricating parts too.

Lately everything I have done has been with wood.

Will be great to get back to aluminum and metal soon.

Keep at it brother,
Darren

same problem different tools. I have a Brother in law that started repairing old furniture. soon had way more work then he needed.
it all starts with the attitude, that if they did it so can I. then realization that you might mess up a couple of times before you get it done. dosen't mean you failed just that you learned a better way to do it.

I marvel at people that just live with a problem. I can't do that.

do you know if they modified them to get the door to swing wider? Here is a picture off Bill's Barnnette. This was a lot of work to swing it right.
