The S&S Photo Thread

Feb 1952 press photo of an unusual '51 S&S limousine, one of 20 built for the King of Saudi Arabia.

"American beauties show how the wives of King Ibn Saud will ride in 20 specially built Cadillacs being completed in Cincinnati at a cost of $250,000..."

These special limousines were built by Hess & Eisenhardt and had mirrored side glass so that outsiders couldn't see the passengers inside!

68 Cadillac S&S Victoria

Purchased from a friend last winter. She was set to rot in his field since he already restored his 68 M&M and didn't feel the need of having another coach to feed.

Once I got it home, cleaned the interior & got it running. I could not wait another minute! :D Top to bottom, she has a new lease on life! 100% Back to original! NO, no one else was contracted to do the work, all by me.

'50 S&S ambulance with what appears to be a discussion about biohazard clean up.

"Lookie lookie!" '59 S&S bonus. Take note of quarter panel compartment access.

Information - as always - is automatically posted when known. I'm better than most in this capacity, taking time to research each image before posting. '50 turned up nothing of origination nor photographer to credit via Google & Bing searches. '59 is in a private collection.

S and S

Our firm has used S and S coaches consistently since 1972... I was just 10 when my folks brought our first one home! Always been pleased... We still have 4 in our fleet... From 2004-2011 models! The question becomes... What next? I just think Eagle and Perhaps Armbruster may be the next Holman-Howe coach!

Had these pics on old board after '38 S&S surfaced in mid-'07. Being used as advertising for a wrecking yard outside Ciudad Juarez, Mexico not far from El Paso. Heard multiple prices all third hand before having a friend who grew up in El Paso check it out on one of her trips visiting back home. She confirmed in '09 that they wanted $10k cash US for it, although open to close offer.

Have not given the coach much thought since, until last week when I heard someone in US was trying to sell it where it sits for $15k. Guess the '38 is still there four years later. Anyway, here are some of those images once again.

1967 S&S Ambulance

Here are some photos I stumbled across of the 1976 S&S "Professional" Hightop Ambulance I used to own quite a few years ago. I bought it to be a sister to my '76 hearse. In 1994 my dad drove this car to the Pittsburgh PCS Meet. Tom
