More Pontiacs

Here's a nice matching pair of '59 Superior Pontiacs from St. Francis Ambulance in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Of course I have taken many Poncho pix over the years, to see them you know what you must do, attend an Iowa Hawkeye Chapter event!:halo:

Looking GREAT Aaron! What a sharp Superior.
If any of you Pontiac guys are interested, I have a set of 4 of these Pontiac rally wheels like the ones on Aaron's '70. They are the hard to find 5 on 5" lug pattern (off a '77 Pontiac Safari wagon) with all the center caps & trim rings. Can bring them to the Ohio international next year if anyone needs them for their procar.

yes typical Jerry Lewis mayhem. but seeing the two identical cars wailing around the street is a treat. stacking them like rifles in the end must have been a feat.

There's more than one way to skin a cat as the old saying goes. It's really lousy, but I took a photo of the old picture. The 1973 Pontiac Superior that I had for a couple years. Photo taken at Sandusky Internationa Speedway in the summer of 1974. Still can't get that damn scanner to work properly. Here goes nothing.....

Kool kombination from Kansas

This very nice 1963 Superior was owned by a collector (not a PCS member) in Wichita when I photographed it in 1987. The siren and all of the roof lights as well as the swag drapes were removable. I imagine that when it was in service, it wasn't pulled down to "hearse" configuration very often. That probably was a five-minute job for two men! (The swag drapes were probably only used for funeral services.)

Three '69s, one '67...

1. This is the newest Superior I've seen with their optional quad corner lights. Does anyone know (or have a photo) of a '70 model, Cadillac or Pontiac, with these lights?

2. Typical Pontiac hightop

3. This is a fairly basic but very attractive car; I think the C6 adds just that certain classy look!

4. Nameplate says "CITY OF BRANTFORD"...Ontario, perhaps?

1965 Superior ad

What a good-looking trio!

I always thought Superior's 1962 as well as 1965-67 Embassy limousines were very attractive. The 1963-64 models, however, were awful.

I pulled our '64 Superior Pontiac out the other day and grabbed some pictures. Originally from Titusville, NJ. It's "brother" was a '53 Henney Packard ambulance - they were in service together - now owned by PCS member George Hamlin.

1959/60 Superior ambulance inserts

It has removable "ambulance" inserts in the rear windows. I've only seen these full-window-sized inserts in the 1959 and 1960 Superiors.

Here's a factory photo that shows these a little better:
