We(as do you) buried our dead pets on OUR property. I cannot understand wanting to bury a pet anywhere else!
The yard is 13 acres and we live here also. I have a large evergreen (Pine Tree) buffer required by the township. Its peaceful shade and pleasant the pet burial ground is there there are currently 20 plus of our friends buried there. I hope in the spring to do some grading and planting to make it a spot to rest and meditate with a couple of benches. I can understand the Pet Cematary folks its better than putting your friend out in the trash or letting the Vet dispose of the remains. We were caring for a friend of Jans German Shepherd as the friend had passed suddenly and Jan had arranged to take the dog. Anyway the girl passed at 13 and the friend had asked the dog be cremated and the ashes buried next to her. We used the Masterpiece to transport her to the vets for cremation. The vets said it was a first also complimented us on the "Beautiful Hearse". One of our dog owning friends and a client of Jans has constructed a Garden of Memory on their property complete with a fountain benches beautiful plantings and stoned walks. We rescue German Shepherds over 12 so far this year. Currently three permanent friends and two Shepherds and one Shih Tzu (ankle biter) for adoption anyone need a dog? Our dogs are part of our household and family members so when they pass the same respect as human passing is accorded. Some think we are nuts but the dog folks all agree as they do it too.
My response:Patrick,
Prolonging the life of a pet that is trying to die of natural causes is not "having a big heart", as you put it.

Well said Pete, thank you. As I have previously stated, we love our cats and dogs, they are family.
