Morr Extrication Collars

Kurt Arends

PCS Elected Director 2021-2024
I would like some assistance in putting an approximate vintage on this set of 3 Morr Extrication Collars made by Morrison Medical Products from Columbus, OH. I assume that these would not be period correct for my '75 Superior 54" ambulance.

Photos of the collars.

Collars,

Kurt,
I would venture to say those are mid 80's and newer.....
The ones we used back in the 70's were covered in a cloth/gauze type of material with a velcro closure....;)

They were in my ambulance and it was taken out of service in 1988. I assumed that they were closer to that vintage.

Actually

The vinyl covered were started to be used in the mid to late 70s. I started on squad in 1976 and we were using cloth covered collars AND these. We only had a limited supply of them so we only used them when he had facial trauma. Back then we re-used everything just cleaned it up. But when you get a soft collar bloody it was shot. Vinyl could be cleaned easily.
