Default Removal of original weather stripping

I've done this before but don't recall the difficulty I'm experiencing with my current project. Any suggestions on removing original weather stripping?

drag the edge of a putty knife on the grinder and round the corners a bit, bevel the leading edge. flat side down and walk it around.

Default Thanks. the very bottom layer (adhesive) comes off

after being sprayed with goof-off.
