1960 Pontiac Bonneville Hearse - $4500 (Tower)
k7mkh-3577084091@sale.craigslist.org
1960 Pontiac Superior Criterion Combination hearse. Runs, drives, shifts, stops... but it is a project. Current California title and registration. Original V-8 389cu and autotransmission. All flat glass (with exception of the wind wings) was replaced last summer (new glass, rebuilt channels and gears, new whiskers and windlace). Rear curved glass is in good shape, no cracks or chips. Front winshield is bad BUT I have a new one and correct gasket, just needs to be installed (this was SUPER hard to find). The faux etched crests are removeable.
Paint and body were done in October but needs to go back for touch up and cut & polish. Bumpers are in good shape. I have most (if not all) of the original trim.
Interior is basically gutted. Previous owner cut the casket table. Rather than attept to rebuild it, I cleaned up the hack job and installed a bench seat. I removed as much rust as I could and rubberized the interior to get it ready for upholstery. I have the original door panels for pattern making.
To the best of my research ability, this is one of four cars running in the US of this model. Luckily, it takes a lot of Bonneville parts that are generally easy to find. The car was originally a funeral coach in Washington. They must have nice weather there because carrying a dead body in a car without air conditioning seems like a bad idea to me. This is our baby... but now me and the ol' lady are having a REAL baby and we are going to have to divert our funds, obviously. $4500
If you buy this car, be prepared to be yelled at when you're driving down the street. People will inconvenietly stop you at intersections to take pictures. It makes some people happy to see, it scares the crap out of others. People will follow you, taking video with thier phone. Some crazy people might even scream 'SATANIST!' when you are going to the store to shop for brussel sprouts. Just be prepared... I wasn't.

Getting rid of those owner made landau panels first...rest still doesn't look like a bad start, a little further along then when it last surfaced.
