Had the same thing a few years ago. Gypsy terminal ends are not where its at. They build up corrosion where the cable is clamped in and the whole thing is conducted through the bolt BINGO melt down. For my $$$ try a NEW end and clean the cable shiney think that will solve issue.

Replace the cable with a quality product that is manufactured in the US of A. It might take some looking to find it, but quality cables are out there. Unfortunately, places such as NAPA and CARQUEST have lowered their standards, and now sell a lot of "Made in China" junk. Del City is where I get good electrical products made in the US.

boy do you have that right. #4 gage may be good for 2015 but not at all for a older car. these type ends are a invitation for trouble. but seams like everyone want to use them. one other source for bigger cables is you tractor supply house.

Napa and other places can get also get real cable in bulk and the ends. You can buy a solder tab that has a flux in it also. You drop the tab in the cable end heat it and once it melts you shove in the cable and let cool a little heavy shrink wrap and you are in done.
