Nicholas: Thank you, that was a very useful link. I found and downloaded the manual needed for the Lifepak 5. From that site, I followed several other links but still unable to find anything for the Lifepak 4.
One pretty cool thing on the Franks Hospital Workshop site is an article on constructing an ECG simulator. This would allow someone with an monitor/defibrillator in their ambulance to have it display a normal sinus rhythm.
I am hoping to take out the big heavy battery from inside the Lifepak 4 case and put in a smaller power supply and the ECG simulator in its place so that I can have an ECG signal appear on the scope of the defibrillator. We shall see how this goes.
