Even small leads are worth following up

'Cuz every now and then someone keeps your contact information and calls when the time is right.

Purchased a group of items from a funeral director whose retirement is looming. After 38 years working for same firm and 50 years total as an undertaker, he felt it best to start lightening the load. He knew that I'd genuinely appreciate small items kept through those years and find good homes if needed. Preserving history is important to him.

Nothing huge or spectacular. Enough to make for a wonderful weekend country drive though!

1930 National Casket Company book blows me away. Condition, size, subject matter...even the embossed 3D cover is Harry Potter worthy.

Solid copper vaults, plural as in more than one design. No joke. Imagine the grave robbing that would transpire if personal records became public knowledge.

New unused still in original shipping envelope. Even has accompanying holiday card. Nekkid women and private ambulance service? Who wouldn't use Tucker's!

Stopped on return trip and passed along dozens of FH fans (mainly prewar) and a few like vintage FH calendars to someone who gets into paper more than myself. 3 boxes total.

Models were also included and placed in toy forum. There are only a few items total I'd even consider moving along but you can always shoot a PM and ask.

Man I wish I could find a friction of the stuff u find.
every time I contact a local Funeral home asking them if they have anything to sell or get rid of ....they either say no or don't even reply

so strange who would want to embalm a ambulance either privatively or in public
but it was nice to see half naked gals were OK in advertising in 42. try to get away with that today.
