Vintage Disguised Antenna

Had this antenna on the Pontiac. Pretty certain it is a disguised Antenna Specialists AM/FM plus one other band like VHF high. Looking for any tuning directions on other leads. I do have an analyzer, and other tools to tune, but was hoping for a start.

Thanks again...

That looks like a GM AM/FM/CB radio antenna. Possibly the mast has been changed... don't have any idea what the mast in that year should look like, but I do recognize the "can"

I recall seeing a AM/FM ?CB antenna but it had a coil in the middle it. Thats why I am thinking it is VHF. I checked resonance and it is upwards of 172 mHz....

May have to switch out and use another.

I have to agree with Paul. Although the antenna itself is definitely Antenna Specialists, the antenna coupler is not. A/S antenna couplers were steel boxes with two SO239 connectors and a hard wired automotive antenna cable.

Well...

at 17.16" it makes a pretty good converted / disguised 2 meter ham antenna centered on 146 mhz. Done with that project as I ended up changing my strategy for on board music. Now considering a concealed blue tooth received for my '70's playlist on the iPhone.

At Acadian Ambulance, we never had am/fm until about the early '80s....

Now I don't have to worry about more rooftop water leaks from the antenna mounts.

Thanks.
