1975 Superior 54XL

Been working on this for a few years now and it's 98% complete. Probably going to sell it soon to make room for another project

Jim,

That is a great looking restoration. I envy those of you who have that skill and talent along with the tools and space to work on these rigs. :applause:

Not so much current but ongoing....

Yes I agree, that is amazing! Any tips on how to tackle a project like that? Where did you learn to upholster so well?

I'm not that skilled. New England Trim (Shrewsbury, MA) did the upholstery and headliner. By the way, I have more of the flooring if anyone needs it.

'74 M-M Lifeliner

Very slow progress on this project. I will be passing this one on to someone else soon.

slow progress is still progress. the key is to do something in a positive manner every day no matter how small just keep moving forward. when we get done with one, they are not a show car just a nice reflection of what one would have looked like when in service. after all if you can't drive it what is the scene in having one. I remember I sold that old 71 to Zack for 800 bucks. I did it with parts from JC Whinty and the ace hardware store. but when he picked it up to go back to Denver with it all the lights worked all the doors opened and closed and every accessory worked as it did when new. it just takes time to do it. I remember to look on his face when he opened the side door and the interior lights came on. he could not believe it. I wish I had known how Eureka wired the interior lights in this car before I put the head liner in place. I would have done a few things different. but then I can truly say that's the way they did it. this 53 like the 67 in whiting is not just sitting most of the big mechanical problems have been taken care of on both of them and the 53 has all of the plating done most all the parts gathered. still working on taillights but her is hoping that and one jump seat from one of these cheap bought from the funeral supply house magazine cars.

this 58 is a collection of members helping that have added a piece of two to get into it what is needed. the Washington cot bar. came from Dan, I had the correct gurney here. the surprise rear bumper grill from Jeremy and Kurt steered me to a good hood at a decent price. I have yet to put one of these together that was not a club project. that is what makes the club members helping members. expecting nothing but the same in return.

Last winter I wrote regarding the restoration of this 73 Superior for our EMS Foundation. All mechanicals are completed and will be heading off for paint followed by interior restoration shortly.

Still needed are:
- (four) sill plates for the bottom of each door,
- chrome bezel for the roof sign,
- the three chrome pieces to go around the front window.

All help for these appreciated +++.

Appearance plan has changed, and plan is now to do blue over white, as interior is blue, with simple marking of Foundation shield on the doors. I was thinking medium/ dark, non metallic "royal" blue, but appreciate all thoughts.

I've got the roof bezel you can have (lightly pitted). I have a bunch of trim from the inside (around windows) and curtain rod holders. Need any of this stuff? Jim

One more step and we are done!

Our 1964 MM looks better today than it did when we got it! One the engine work is completed, we should be finished.
