PCS member gets a mention in THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Dawn Olson, a Hudson, N.Y. PCS member who works as a National Park Service ranger, warrants our congratulations for her mention in a feature article examining President Martin Van Buren's Kinderhook, N.Y. estate "Lindenwald," which was published on page A28 of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL's November 7th, 2012 issue.

Several regulars on this website, no doubt, remain grateful for the after hours access Dawn afforded fellow PCS members to this historic estate during the 2010 International Meet in Albany, allowing us to employ the Eighth President's home as a backdrop for some truly-dramatic photos of Dan Skivolocke's 1959 Superior Cadillac low-top ambulance and Darren Bedford's 1962 Miller-Meteor Futura (ATTACHED). The JOURNAL article noted here, which was written by the paper's "Urban Gardner" columnist Ralph Gardner Jr., can also be viewed online at http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203846804578103110298990882.html

That was a very nice side stop on your way back to Albany after dinner in Chatham NY. Home town to our own VP Mr. Dan Herrick !

If it wasn't for Phil Rishel (& Dan Skivolocke) being dead presidents tomb visitors and information seekers, Digger and I would have missed that historic former presidents home.

It was fantastic meeting up with Greg who photographed the home with our procars and also the dead presidents Monument at a local cemetery.

Steve and Gene showed up as well.

Dawn recognized Steve from photos on this website and she let us onto the grounds with the cars.

It was amazing timing that we where all there together at the same time.

Great memories,
Darren
