Saw some old posts about weather stripping. Does anyone still have rubber for a 72 superior or suggestions on what or where to get. Need to do entire car. Thanks

No suggestions for what to use, but I can tell you that a friend tried to use the Miller Meteor rubber for a 1975 Superior, and it was too thick, and the door wouldn't close. It did work with limited success on the rear door, but the seal is questionable, from what I have been told.

I do believe Mike still has the MM style. now I know my 71 superior used the same one but you would have to do the search to get to the pictures of it to determine if you car uses the same one. you can give him a Pm thew the site

Superior door W/S

Mickey, Steele rubber products has a Superior style W/S that is close to the original, in my opinion. Ed Renstrom installed a similar style of Superior W/S in a restoration last year, but Steele rubber offering is even closer to the original than what Ed used. Big difference is the price. Steele rubber's part number is 70-0491-73 and may be a case where the more quantity you buy, the lesser the price. I would not reccomend using the reproduction Miller Meteor door W/S on any Superior, unless like Ed has specified, that your coach originally had a profile that is similar.

The '72-'75 Superiors (as far as I know) used this profile. This photos is what I need for my '75 (which also matches my '73 parts car).

that would be caddy stock or standard GM stuff the key would be finding some one to sell it to you by the foot. the 73 S&S used the same stuff. I would try Rubber the Right way tell then ED sent you and if you buy enough you get a free T. but really just shop around and see who is buying it from whom. it will run you around 4 bucks a ft. rubber the right way, Steel rubber or Metro are the ones that pop in mind. but your restoration people like restoration specialties some times have a good price on stuff. the profile Mike put up is the one the older superiors need. I was buying it for 80 bucks for 50 ft when I went looking for it. my 53 Pontiac takes the same stuff. but to compare it you need to cut a slice out of what you have. the best place is normal the back side of the door between the lock and the top. seams to be the only place that doesn't get pushed out of shape.

I sent samples of the above rubber to Rubber The Right Way, Steele Rubber and Restoration Specialists and none of them have a match. I'm still looking.

most all of them have gone to kit's but you could try the number 93315 from them it's close just missing the foot to space it off the door edge. the 92208 is similar also just a little bigger. if you have them send you there catalog they have 5 or six pages of actual size profiles. we are taking about restoration specialties here. metro has the same set up in theres I would try there lp40-f or there lp41-0. with out having it in hand to see how it formed it's kind of hard picking it out of a book. the lp40k was what we used on the 73 S&S

A suggestion

Steele Rubber has a profile that I told another person about recently with a 73 Cadillac Superior. Steele's part # 70-1663-99 it is so similar to your profile, that it's not worth looking forever. Metro has a similar profile I am certain, Restoration Specilaties, Original Products Group. Specifically out of their bulk catalogs.
