When i owned Professional/Emergency ambulance in the 70's&80's we carried a master card machine in all our rigs.Niagara Falls being a huge tourist destination made this a must.
If you took a patient to the hospital who was from out of town,you made every attempt to "collect" the call on the spot.Sending a bill to someone once they went home was not very effective.We did not like to do it that way,but it was vital to keeping our company afloat.
