Title and DMV

This vehicle comes with A CERTIFICATION OF LIEN SALE PACKET and its Registration WAS valid through N/A. All taxes, fees, and penalties due to the DMV, are the responsibility of the buyer.

CONCERNING SMOG (CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY) 1976 AND NEWER VEHICLES:
If you are a California Resident intending to register this vehicle in the State of California, AND not a Dealer, then we will provide you with either a “certificate of compliance” or “certificate of non-compliance” along with the sale. There will be an additional $50.00 fee added to your total amount if providing you with either of these. Since many of our buyers are from out of state, we will need email notification from you at least one business day prior to pickup to facilitate the test. We make no guarantees as to the vehicle passing or failing an emission test.

The California Vehicle Code (CVC) 24007 (b) (2) issued in accordance with section 44015 of the Health and Safety Code, states that buyers can be presented with a certificate of compliance or a certificate of non-compliance (that has been issued within 90 days) before or at the time of sale. This will allow buyers to pay the registration fees and tax then transfer the car into their name at the DMV and provides them with 90 days of temporary registration from the time the certificate of non-compliance was issued for the vehicle, thus allowing the buyer time to repair the vehicle and bring it into smog conformity.

my take is the lean has been filed and they have been awarded the property. letting them sell then car. if you be up to you to fallow your states laws to re=title the car. typical Charity you give the car to them they dump it right on the market. no title, so they have a certificate of lean on it. they don't want to spend the money to get a clear title and just sell if for what ever they get.

the most obvious reason for no title is that the former owner was the only name on the title and they are now dead . no one there for to sign the title over. estate gives the car to charity they file lean and sell the car.

all in all it looks like maybe a decent car with a little tlc. it's all there with the expensive stuff still in place. if I was in southern Calf I might get interested.

Being 3000 miles away makes it difficult here in Pa. when a lien sale occurs you must then petition the county court for a "Court Order" which then goes to DMV with the lien papers. Other states are easier to work with. All that being said the Title Man is still available and for about $350.00 you get all the paper work you need. HEY! where are you Ca. guys you should be versed in this lets hear it.
