Recently, the Anderson, Indiana Herald-Bulletin ran a feature article on a newly released book about the history of the Anderson, Indiana Fire Department. Of interest to me is the attached picture showing one of their early ambulances. It looks to be a Pontiac, how about if some of you PCS historians chime in on other observations you can determine from the photo. Coach company?

Is Barnette a coach company? Do you think that it says Barnette in front of the driver's door?

Yes, Barnette was one of the smaller coachbuilders from Memphis, TN. And yes, that is their nameplate on the front fender.

other then the name tag one other easy clue is the center door has rounded corners. then of course then of course there is the window treatment on the quarter glass. thanks for the picture
