'38 Cadillac 6 door limo

Brought to my attention recently. This is what I've learned about coach.

Belongs to famed country musician Junior Brown. He has owned it for 25+ years. Junior had engine rebuilt ($$$) a few years ago. The car actually runs(!). He has a clear TX title and a few expensive small items not seen are at his house (like winged goddess hood ornament). Junior moved 8-9 months ago and had '38 transported to his friend's for storage, Mercury Charlie.

Well, within last two weeks Mercury Charlie moved (still outside Austin, TX). '38 has to go somewhere again. Charlie says Junior has had a $10k figure stuck in his head for some time. Charlie knows Junior will not get $10k for the car, I concur. Charlie and Junior are close friends. Any interested party has to go through Charlie to get a hold of Junior, sort of weeding out timewasters (a role I normally do!). Charlie does not think Junior would take $5k, which is as far as he'd say. His contact information is within link provided above. Charlie will not contact Junior unless someone shows genuine interest. Charlie wants to see something done with car rather than sitting.

Charlie went on to say that metal is in surprisingly good condition. All of the wood framework needs replicated however. He is not familiar enough with this vintage of car to know what may be missing. Charlie builds hot rods and kustoms for a living. He isn't a middleman in this deal jacking price up, merely trying to help his friend Junior out. Junior doesn't have a spot to put it and Charlie is now hard pressed to as well after moving.

Must have been a touring car given open roof. Pike's Peak and Jellystone have been proposed although neither substantiated. Tom McPherson thinks this rare coach built limo is an A.J. Miller product per several design clues. Figured a FD here with a '38 already in collection may consider saving this one.

Bonus tying everything together, here is Mercury Charlie's incredible own ride, Sweet Nadine.

I was fortunate enough in '10 being present during light rain on a Sunday morning when Junior Brown took refuge in her. Check out the crowd forming.

Junior himself began playing impromptu on the spot.

Parting shot of Junior playing his signature guit-steel.
